Classic Computer Infidelity Behavior

Any drastic or sudden change in a partner’s behavior towards you should naturally be a cause of concern, but there are specific behaviors that are more likely to indicate that your partner is engaging in computer infidelity.

While a sudden lost of sexual interest can be the result of numerous possibilities, the general desire not to be near you, not to cuddle, not to engage with you on any physical sense is a definite warning sign.

pc-loveThe thing about computer infidelity is that the obvious link from your partner to the relationship is the computer.

Behaviors regarding the computer or computers start to change. Many partners share an email account or at least have access to each others computers on some level.

Yet when the affair starts to take off and become an obsession, the cheating partner suddenly wants total privacy and control over the computer. They change passwords regularly, they lock out their desktop, and they suddenly become vigilant about closing out of their accounts and shutting off their computer in between uses.

The computer that once was left on to the point of annoyance is now 100% off unless the cheating partner is in front of it. Blocking you from their buddy list is another sign, as though they wish to remain hidden while online so that you can’t tell if you’re at work or elsewhere that they are using their computer.

If you have kids that were once using the computer for homework, there is a sudden need to have them use a different one or even the need to buy them one of their own. Unless a business is attached to your partner’s computer, this is a significant sign of computer infidelity as is the computer being moved from an area easily accessible by all the family to somewhere more remote.

There are many partners who can pull off an online relationship with few behavioral changes that are obvious to an unsuspecting partner. However, as their feelings change there will be a marked difference in the way they respond to you as well as the way they respond to the computer. I have seen couples that were once close and open turn into strangers within a matter of months because all of the free time of one partner was dedicated to online activities, and it wasn’t for the purposes of increasing the family income or tracking the kids’ online whereabouts.

A partner who is committing computer infidelity is also likely to develop a new guarded relationship with their cell phone. As our technology begins to offer us various methods of communication with friends and family, these are the same technological devices that are used in electronic affairs. A cell phone that is never left out of sight, a sudden surge in text messages or a larger than life phone bill can all be indicators, however there is nothing quite as obvious as their protectiveness of their computer.

After all, the affair makes your partner feel better about themselves somehow. They either feel more attractive or more alive or more loving and their connection to that feeling will naturally become connected to the device that delivers it the most regularly. Classic computer infidelity behavior can usually be seen with the most clarity when the faithful partner steps back from the relationship and starts to observe fact rather than assume notions. Watching, learning, and making general notations of general behavior changes can often point directly to the computer.

If you suspect that your partner is engaging in some sort of relationship online (or you simply want to be reassured that they are not) their are some very inexpensive undetectable spy programs that will allow you to check what they’ve been up to. Wouldn’t it be a relief to find that they are addicted to ‘World of Warcraft’ (a popular online game) rather than having an affair?
